The University of Hertfordshire faced a data breach compromising names and emails of 2,000 students.

A bulk email was sent to a group of students inviting them to attend a lecture as part of the school’s programme.

The exposed people are being contacted by the University and provided with relevant information.

Security awareness is claimed to be an underestimated measure to take in order to ensure safe communication and protect personal details. In case every member of an organisation is aware of the consequences a human error might cause there would be fewer incidents occurred due to negligence.
