Former employee of a New York hospital exposes coworkers' and patients' data
26.12.2019

A former employee of a hospital in New York City pled guilty to fraudulent activity. He accessed information stored on his coworkers’ PCs with the help of malicious software, such programs as keylogger facilitated his scheme.

The ex-staffer stole user names and passwords to employees’ accounts and obtained sufficient details to take personal data and sensitive details away without authorisation.

Private information including photos, videos and various documents was compromised.

The employee’s violation affected not only his coworkers’ privacy but also exposed confidential healthcare data belonging to patients thus making the organisation probably face a potentially considerable penalty.
