1 million Virgin Media records got compromised due to unprotected database.
About 900 000 people got their personal data compromised as Virgin Media reports. The exposed date is said to be accessed by external violators. The database was accessible for 10 months from April 2019 till February 2020.
Insecure caches containing personal data were compromised every day.
The revelation of data makes people vulnerable to phishing attacks, their phone numbers and email can be targeted to receive more information.
Virgin Media emphasises that this is one of those unique situations when your data is as not perfectly protected as usual.
