Confidential information of Bharat Earth Movers Limited got exposed – the leak occurred on May 25 but BEML became aware of the breach 10 days later.
BEML, Indian defence contractor, couldn't protect internal documents from appearing on the dark web due to possible hacktivist or even a politically motivated attack.
The sensitive details were stolen with the help of logging into email accounts and passwords of a few workers were compromised.
'Indigenisation' section of the BEML website is claimed to be the actual target of the scammers. There were client records, organisational memos, correspondence, invoices were exposed in the breach.
