EU largest telecom affected in a ransomware attack

Orange Business Services became the target of ransomware attackers. The major telecommunications company in Europe is to deal with the consequences of corporate data theft. The company’s information is reportedly put up for sale on the dark web.

The incident compromised the data of 20 million Orange Business Services users and about 148,000 staff members – the company has a 266-million client base.

Nefilim ransomware group is responsible for the breach which was detected a week ago on July 16.

The telecom provider of communication and business services admitted to the leakage of sensitive data and determined when it occurred – July 4-5.
