A customer guessed a password

A “9999” password isn’t tough to breach, especially when it repeats the username. WeWork users usually have a seven-digit username and a four-digit password for printing document at the location. Although employee accounts had a four-digit username, and one of the staffers left his place while still logged in, and the username was 9999. It didn’t take long for a customer to try to enter 9999 as a password too, and well, it worked!

Employees under 9999 account supervise daily activities and operations helping those users who don’t have accounts at WeWork yet print their documents – thus, accessing a corporate account could lead to printing pending files which belonged to any customers who sent their documents to the 9999 account.

The 9999 password has reportedly been changed to another one.
