Recently Australian telecom giant Telstra has experienced a data related incident.
The outcome of the incident is that personal information of more than 130,000 Telstra customers has been exposed.
The data exposed contained users’ names, phone numbers and addresses. The company official claimed that the prerequisite of the incident was “misalignment of databases”.
The personal details were available via Directory Assistance or the White Pages. In other words, currently it is believed that no external malicious hacker activity took place.
The Telstra representative also acknowledged that the breach was discovered during an internal review.
