Recently british company WHSmith, which is one of the largest book, magazines and newspaper retailer in Great Britain, experienced a cybersecurity incident. As a result of the incident, intruders managed to illicitly obtain company’s internal data. Investigation is currently in progress. According to the official statement by the company representative, company’s web-site, clients' accounts and databases were not affected.
The exact number of people affected is not clear, however, it is known, that the data leak affected at least 12.000 company employees. Nevertheless, this number may be bigger, if data on former employees was also leaked.
