Metro Istanbul has partnered with information security software developer SearchInform to evaluate workload distribution efficiency, corporate resource utilization, and overall business processes.

Metro Istanbul is the largest urban rail operator in Türkiye, with 235 stations and more than 6,000 employees. Through digital analytics and reporting tools, the initiative enabled improvements and cost savings in several areas, from software usage to employee productivity.

As the first step of the cooperation, Metro Istanbul deployed the productivity monitoring module offered within SearchInform’s RiskMonitor platform.

Developed by SearchInform, the solution provides companies with end-to-end visibility into employee activity, delivering detailed and measurable insights across multiple metrics, including staff productivity and the use of applications and software. The system enables organizations to proactively address issues such as excessive workload, burnout risk, chronically low productivity, uneven workload distribution, and inefficient use of corporate resources.

Following extensive testing during a one-month pilot period, Metro Istanbul Information Systems Manager Cihat Yediyıldız stated that the solution helped reveal numerous optimization opportunities.

“As Metro Istanbul, we operate with a continuous focus on improving both our overall performance and the quality of service we provide. In line with this approach, we actively use a wide range of software tools and applications. However, we wanted a clear view of whether these tools truly served our operational needs. RiskMonitor showed that we were incurring significant costs for software that was not actually required. Based on these findings, we discontinued unused programs and licenses, achieving substantial cost savings. In addition, thanks to the solution, our managers can now automatically receive clear and highly detailed reports prepared according to customizable criteria related to attendance, productivity, and other key metrics,” he said.
