The PrintController functionality has been updated in the SearchInform DLP system for Linux PCs. This module is responsible for protecting documents sent for printing.

Now you can restrict the operation of printers for specified users, PCs, and their groups. This solves the problem of document leaks through the printing of documents and enables a flexible configuration of protection measures.

The restrictions on working with printers are implemented at the device access level. SearchInform DLP prevents an employee from attempting to print a document if the user does not have the rights to do so or uses someone else's printer. For instance, an accounting employee will be unable to use the printer of another department if the block on that specific device is activated. Additionally, the employee will not be able to print anything at all if such an operation is prohibited for that user or PC.

The second update for PC control on Linux is clipboard blocking. SearchInform DLP allows you to configure its work for a given content and processes. For example, you can restrict the copying and pasting of phone numbers, bank cards, and other information for specified PCs or users. Alternatively, you can restrict the functionality of the clipboard when a text editor, browser, or any other process is active.

Furthermore, the restrictions can be flexibly configured based on the printer, the content in the clipboard, and various other parameters, ensuring that they do not disrupt employees' work.
