SearchInform has expanded the list of cloud storages that can be scanned and protected by FileAuditor. The DCAP system now integrates with Amazon S3 via its native API, enabling organizations to audit cloud content, track file activity, back up critical documents, and view file revision history.

FileAuditor scans corporate cloud storage and classifies files based on content adding special labels to documents containing personal data, financial records, client contracts, etc. Over 450 predefined rules or custom ones can be used for data classification. The security specialist can view the number of files of each class, their contents and attributes (format, size, etc.), and a full history of file operations by users.

“Amazon S3 cloud storage is popular for its flexibility– it integrates easily into both private infrastructure and cloud provider environments. By supporting the S3 protocol, FileAuditor can now monitor any compatible storage, not just Amazon’s,” said Sergio Bertoni, Lead Analyst at SearchInform.

“Global statistics show that corporate cloud environments are increasingly a source of major data leaks. It’s vital for us to equip our clients with tools to secure cloud storage in any configuration,”  he explained.

Outside of local infrastructure, FileAuditor works with cloud platforms, business applications, file and mail servers. In addition to S3, it supports WebDAV, FTP, SFTP, and SMB/NFS protocols. SearchInform’s DCAP system also reads event logs from Windows, Active Directory, and NetApp. Locally, FileAuditor agents control any storage or PC powered by Windows, Linux, making the system a universal solution for protecting sensitive data across any infrastructure.
