Uber experienced another data related incident. However, no link between the September incident and this one has been established. This time the hackers managed to illicitly obtain data by hacking IT-provider Teqtivity client base. The Teqtivity company is the Uber’s subcontractor.  Some data has yet been leaked.

According to the Teqtivity official statement the intruders gained access to “Teqtivity AWS backup server that housed Teqtivity code and data files related to Teqtivity customers”.

The following information was exposed as the result of the incident:

  • Device information: serial number, make, models, technical specs
  • User information: first name, last name, work email address, work location details.
