The first fine equal to $275 million was imposed because the data on gamers under 13 y.o. was gathered without notifying parents as well as without receiving their permission.

The following data was collected:

•    Names
•    E-mails
•    Other identifiers, enabling to trace a user.

In addition to it, online-chats, both voice and text ones were switched on by default. This has lead to “bullying, threatening and harassment” of some players. Some children had to face up messages on suicide topic as well.

The second fine was imposed due to the usage of so-called dark patterns for mistreating users. This violation led to loss of large amounts of money by players. It was stated that the unsubscribe and money refund options were deliberately hidden. The $245 million fine was imposed in this relation. The money received should be given to the affected parties.
