Content search in the archives of FileAuditor DCAP system is now available from any device and OS.
The web console of SearchInform Risk Monitor now supports content search across data collected by the FileAuditor DCAP, combining the strengths of two key approaches — monitoring data in motion via DLP and auditing data at rest. Information security officers can now locate and analyze documents labeled by FileAuditor within the corporate infrastructure working in a browser on any device.
The new functionality is available on the Search tab of the Risk Monitor web console. The DLP system searches for FileAuditor-labeled documents that were saved to the archive as shadow copies. Applying a variety of search queries and filters, security officers can quickly find necessary content even in files that are not transmitted through data channels. The feature is especially convenient since FileAuditor automatically categorizes documents based on their contents, narrowing down the DLP search area only to business-critical data.
“The integration of the DCAP and DLP solutions enables comprehensive investigations directly through the web console. For example, if an employee mentions sending a confidential file in correspondence, a security officer can instantly check corporate storages for this file, review its contents, and assess potential leakage risks — all from any device, regardless of the operating system,” said Sergio Bertoni, Lead Analyst at SearchInform.
Previously, within the integration of the platforms, Risk Monitor could already detect documents tagged by FileAuditor when they were transferred through communication channels such as messengers, email, USB drives, printing, or uploads to websites and cloud storages. The latest update expands these capabilities by adding full-text search across the archived data.
This enhancement is particularly relevant for organizations with hybrid IT infrastructures, offering a unified and device-agnostic tool for comprehensive data control.
