Germany is to deal with a political data leakage which is claimed to be one of the biggest in its history.

German security is to face criticism considering that personal details of politicians and celebrities were leaked.

The far-right Alternative for Germany AfD was the only political party which wasn’t affected. Angela Merkel and other leaders, journalists and famous people got their data breached. Although the hacker seems to not favor right-wing extremism.
The twenty-year-old hacker confessed to violating the confidentiality and was arrested. The suspect facilitated the investigation process providing the authorities with the required information.

The offender emphasised the non-involvement of foreign states or other third parties. He clearly stated the purpose – the “anger at the public statements of the politicians, journalists and public figures concerned” appeared to be the reason.
